About Green Ways
The Wild Self Group

A very warm welcome to Green Ways

A space to slow down, reconnect and find your way back to yourself.

We provide emotionally attuned individual counselling, ecotherapy and nature-based wellbeing groups with compassion, depth, respect and understanding.

Nature therapy /ecotherapy can be especially effective for those experiencing anxiety, depression, burnout, trauma, life transitions, or feelings of stuck-ness in traditional indoor therapy. By stepping into natural environments, you are able to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with yourself in an expanded, grounded and supportive way.

Nature therapy is a therapeutic approach that uses time in nature as part of the counselling process. Sessions may include walking, reflection, mindfulness, and guided conversation, all facilitated by a qualified and fully insured BACP registered counsellor.

Nature provides a calm, non-judgemental setting where insight and change can naturally occur.

Reconnect with yourself, others, and the natural world. Exploring your mind, body and soul in an environment that suits you, whether that is indoors, outdoors, in a group or individually, at home or online.

If you would like to find out more about how I work, please see my BACP Directory Page.

Rediscover your true wild nature

Step away from the noise with space to pause, reflect and reconnect

Outdoor

Forest & Coast

Outdoor sessions take place in woodlands and coastal paths across Dorset, Hampshire and the New Forest.

Nature can become part of the conversation too. A path, a tree, seasonal changes, the weather or something else we notice along the way might offer a different perspective, a metaphor or a way of exploring something that is difficult to put into words.

There is no set way we have to do it. We might walk, pause, sit, breathe, notice, talk, or simply be quiet for a while.

For some people, having the freedom to move and the space of the outdoors can make it easier to think, feel and talk. Walking side by side can feel less intense than sitting face-to-face, while being surrounded by the natural world can offer a sense of perspective and grounding.

The therapy is still the therapy, nature simply becomes part of the space in which it happens. This can be an alternative (or addition) to indoor counselling or a group.

Indoor

Indoor 1:1 face-to-face sessions are held in a cosy therapy room in Ashley Heath, Nr Ringwood with a private garden space, or in a private space in Bournemouth.

If being outdoors isn't for you, or sometimes you simply want the comfort and privacy of an indoor space, sessions can also take place in my therapy room, online or by telephone.

I have warm, relaxed spaces where there is no expectation to sit still, make eye contact or find the “right” words. I have art materials, books and other resources should this feel supportive for you. Nothing is prescribed or required. These are simply different ways of exploring and expressing what is going on, and we'll find what feels right for you.

Whether we are talking, creating, reflecting, sitting quietly or practising mindfulness, either in person, by phone or online, the space is yours to come as you are.

Please get in touch for other locations or to enquire about home visits.
